The main reason for the difference is that in order to achieve a faster but equivalent quality output of the pro-2000, they need to change the way ink is provided on paper Pro-2000 and those changes were created by the need for specific Pro-2000 profiles. The test prints I made using the Atkinson Printer test page of all of these profiles show a perfectly satisfying rendition of memory colors, a perfectly satisfying rendition of shadow detail, exceptionally rich, neutral looking blacks and Smooth tonal gradations of all three papers on both printers.
Just as a reminder of profiling methods for those interested, I’m using I1Profiler with the I1Pro 2, X-Rite 2033 patch chart with scrambled patches, large tables option, V4 Profile version, neutral contrast and saturation, default ambient light Settings (Standard and D50), 16-bit grain, smoothness 50, white-gritty dot and M0, M1 and m2 measurement conditions. My operating system is MAC OSX either El Capitan or Mavericks depending on the computer being used. In general, the M0 versions of profiles returned the most accurate results.
I have given this rather extensive (but not exhaustive) discussion on profiling because the issues arose about how best to profile these printers, and I have encountered difficulties and found solutions that I have watched in favor of sharing community With. The bottom line is that I welcome the Canon PSP version of the 2.1.0 “No Color correction” mode combined with the X-Rite Professional Grade profiling hardware and software to provide a viable vehicle to produce highly satisfying, reliable profiles Both printers. In fact, statistical and visual results are all very impressive.
