It’s quite steep, but if you prefer the 500 pages that come down to the high yield XL cartridge-£ 12,53 and much more reasonable 2.5 p per page.
Canon offers a different number of pages for each color cartridge, but five standard color cartridge sets, which make cost calculations quite complicated, come around £45.00. Head-scratch and calculate with Excel after a little bit, color printing with standard cartridges estimate runs at the high end of average printing costs of approximately 10.6 p per page. But if you spend around £59.20 for a series of five XL cartridges that price only comes up to 6p per page so good for color printing in this quality.
The initial cost of Pixma TS6140 is quite high, but impressive photo printing would justify this price for people who are serious about photography. We avoid standard sized ink cartridges, as they are not a great value for money, but if you buy high yield XL cartridges then TS8050 can provide top quality photo printing with very competitive running costs.
The Pixma range depends on the purpose for Creative Home use, so the Pixma TS6140 has an SD card slot that lets you print photos directly from your memory card. Alternatively, you can use Canon’s Android or IOS apps to wirelessly print from a tablet or phone.
The Pixma TS6140 has a traditional 100-sheet rear paper feed and a front-exit tray. We had some frustration with the feed slot cover, which we had to close manually after restocking with paper. It’s easy to forget, and sometimes you need to play before you detect the printer. Another Minor care is that automatic double sided (duplex) is not the pressure that we expect to come as standard at this price. Nevertheless, Canon’s five ink system employs good to see, both pigment-based black jobs for thick text on plain paper and a paint black for better contrast of photos.
